Medical assistance to warkaries from Pune to Pandharpur is our signature project run for over decade . Nature of work - our three ambulances with full stock of medicines , doctors and paramedics and rotarians tprovide medical support to warkaries free of cost for 15 days. Nature of medical complaints that can be attended on site- 1. exhaustion fue to walking and heat 2. accidents that include fractures, snake bite, scorpion bites, falling in well, falling and many other 3. common complaints of cold, body pain, asthma patients, diarrhea, vomiting, fever. most common complaint is of cramps in the legs due to walking , for which special oil is provided to them and wherever possible massage is done . 4. orthopedic cases of fractures, dislocations, are attended on site , serious cases are transferred to Pune after due corrections , the warkari is sent to his village or town free of cost. 5. as days pass by condition and complaint of pilgrims becomes alarming and needs more attention . 6. on an average day 1000 to 2000 warkarie stake benefit of the services . 7. Project requires huge amount of consumables and medicines which are partly bought directly from manufacturers , partly it is supported by various pharma companies and donors. the depleted stocks are replenished by rotarians who are going in rotation at various halting places . 8. The main responsibility of the project is taken by Rot. Dr. Bhagwan Narkhede and his wife IPP Dr. Harshita Narkhede ably supported by a team of doctors from Sasson, their doctor friends , Medical interns , paramedics and rotarians of RCP Karvenagar. 9. general working is like this we shift our base to next destination before palakhi reaches there , so that warkaries can get attention when they need it most after exhaustion .
